Introducing The New ActiBrake We've listened to customer feedback and responded with the next generation ActiBrake.
The new ActiBrake features the following:

Sealed Unit - Large Reservoir The ActiBrake electric-hydraulic actuator is sealed in a rugged, corrosion proof, water proof polyethylene enclosure which has a watertight bulkhead electrical connector included. The ActiBrake has a large 1.5 liter brake fluid reservoir with enough capacity to handle up to a triple 10k axle trailer without requiring additional brake fluid, even as the brake pads wear down.
Largest Capacity Pump The ActiBrake has a 6 piston, two-stage rotary pump with the capacity to rapidly actuate large brake systems. Large brake caliper pistons / wheel cylinders demand a significant volume of brake fluid to set the friction pads against the brake rotors / drums. With six pistons at work, no other electric-hydraulic actuator can match ActiBrake's pumping power.
Battery Management The ActiBrake monitors the trailer battery under load to determine if it needs to be recharged. It also can determine if the battery needs a maximum charge if it is very low, or a trickle charge if it is only slightly low. To ensure that the trailer brake system always has enough power during a braking event, the battery charger will be interrupted when the brake system is activated and immediately continue to charge when the braking event is complete.
Sleep Mode When the ActiBrake senses that the trailer has been disconnected from the towing vehicle, it enters a sleep mode. This sleep mode prevents the ActiBrake from draining the trailer battery when the trailer is not in use.
Fail Safe Mode If, for any reason, the ActiBrake's microprocessor is damaged and stops running, the ActiBrake has electronic hardware that will continue to operate the brake system. Other functionality may be lost, but the brake system with continue to operate. If this occurs, the ActiBrake will sound an audible alarm whenever it is engaged to notify the operator of the problem.
Extend' A Life The Extend'A-Life feature prolongs the ActiBrake's longevity by reducing the brake line pressure during extended braking situations in which the vehicle has stopped moving, such as sitting at a stoplight or waiting at a train crossing. By reducing the pressure during these events, the ActiBrake's pump, motor and electronics are not subjected to unnecessary heat and stress while continuing to provide braking on the trailer.
Upgradeable As trailer brake software is sure to improve with time, the ActiBrake is designed to be upgradeable through its bulkhead electrical connector (i.e. if an ActiBrake owner wants to upgrade to ABS capability at a future date it is possible to do so.)
ActiBrake Mounting Accessories

Horizontal (Side Mount)
Mounting Plate
Vertical (Top Mount)
ActiBrake Mounting Options
The ActiBrake actuator can be mounted in two different orientations -- horizontally or vertically as long as the unit is right side up. Horizontal and vertical mounting straps are available to surface mount the ActiBrake. A mounting plate is also available which mates with the both types of mounting straps. The mounting plate can be either bolted or welded to its mounting structure. This plate can be used to raise the ActiBrake off of the floor or wall of a compartment, or to mount the ActiBrake on an exterior frame.
